Jeffrey James Moore, 46, of Jackson died Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 19, 1961, in Cape Gir­ar­deau, son of James Franklin and Dixie Lee Gregg Moore. He and Terri Burns were married Feb. 2, 2001.

Moore was a 1979 graduate of Jackson High School. He worked at Brennecke Chevrolet from 1977 to 1991, working up to sales manager. He was then vice president and co-owner of Ross Furniture Inc. and was manager of the store in Jackson.

He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville, served on the administrative board from 1991 to 2004, was a trustee since 1999, and was a member of New Hope Sunday school class. He had been a member of Southeast Missouri Medical Center Board since 1993 and was a member of Jackson Merchants Association.

Moore served on the Jackson Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 1991 to 1998, was president from 1996 to 1997, vice president from 1995 to 1996 and secretary treasurer from 1994 to 1995.

Committees served on include golf tournament 1992 to 2007, historic district committee 2004 to 2007, retail 2005 to 2007, tourism chairman 1995 to 1996 and special events and projects 1991 to 1994.

He received the Distinguished Service Award from Jackson Jaycees in 1995 and Community Servant Award from Jackson Rotary Club.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jameson Moore; two daughters, Jennifer Moore and Sydney Rapp; his mother of Jackson; a brother, Jay (Lynette) Moore; a nephew, Landry Moore, all of Jackson; and paternal grandmother Evelyn Moore of Gordonville.

He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents Orval Gregg and Eleanor Williams; and paternal grandfather Eugene Moore.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Zion United Methodist Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Officiating will be the Rev. Ann Mowery, pastor of Zion United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer, pastor of Emanuel United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Zion United Methodist Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church or Emanuel United Church of Christ.
