She was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Perryville, Mo., daughter of Robert and Teresa Baudendistel Brown. She and Richard Young were married Jan. 19, 1946, in St. Louis. Lillian M. Brown Young, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, June 4, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Perryville, Mo., daughter of Robert and Teresa Baudendistel Brown. She and Richard Young were married Jan. 19, 1946, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death April 17, 1990.

Lillian was a retired registered nurse and worked at both Southeast Missouri Hospital and Saint Francis. She served over 30 years with Saint Francis Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary and was past president in 1977. Lillian was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, and served as a volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul Grade School and Red Cross.

She was a 1944 graduate of De Paul Nursing School in St. Louis.

Survivors include a son, Richard Young of Jackson; two daughters, Mary Young of Albuquerque, N.M., Teresa Rushin of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two grandchildren, Richard Rushin and Shelby Rushin of Poplar Bluff.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Young; her parents, four brothers and six sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today with a vigil service at 6:30 at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charity of choice.
