Jessie Ruth Karwick, 85, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Dyersburg Manor in Dyersburg, Tenn.

She was born Oct. 6, 1921, at Caruthersville, daughter of Walter L. and Annie L. Entriken Sides. She and Don Karwick were married Aug. 8, 1943, in Caruthersville.

Karwick was a 1939 graduate of Caruthersville High School. She was employed many years at Brown Shoe Co. She was a member of First Baptist Church and worked in the nursery more than 35 years, and was a member of Eastern Star Chaper 465.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter Gail Lowrance of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Annie Welburn of Jackson, Miss.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Graveside service was held Tuesday at Little Prairie Cemetery, with Dr. James Adams officiating.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
