Nelbert Geringer

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Nelbert H. Geringer, 86, of Perryville died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 31, 1917, at Biehle, Mo., son of August and Mary Werth Geringer. He and Alma B. Wingerter were married May 17, 1945. She died Nov. 5, 2002.

Geringer was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church at Biehle.

Survivors include a daughter, JoAnn Lukefahr of Perryville; two sons, Neil Geringer of Perryville, Kevin Geringer of St. Louis; a half brother, Flavian Geringer of Defiance, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 12 half brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and Wednesday from 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. The parish wake will be at 7:15 today.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Maurus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Alphonse Hoernig officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
