The Plaza Tire Capahas will have to wait an extra day to try and start a new winning streak.

According to Capahas manager Jess Bolen, Wayne County, Ill. -- today's scheduled home opponent -- will not be able to make the trip to Cape Girardeau.

"Their coach just called me and said due to unforeseen circumstances, they couldn't make it over," Bolen said early Friday evening. "He really didn't give any further explanation.

"That's the first time I think something like this has happened to us in about 25 years. It's disappointing."

Bolen said Sunday's 2 p.m. home doubleheader against Springfield, Ill., is still on at Capaha Field.

The Capahas are 10-1 after suffering their first loss of the season Wednesday during the second game of a doubleheader against Henderson, Tenn.

Plaza Tire captured the opener 4-2, but fell in the nightcap 14-4. The games were played in Dyersburg, Tenn.

"We'll get back out there Sunday and see what we can do," Bolen said.
