CHARLESTON, Mo. -- The Plaza Tire Capahas posted their 12th win of the season Tuesday night as they rolled past the host Charleston Riverdogs 14-1.

The game, scheduled for nine innings, was stopped after seven innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.

Plaza Tire (12-2) fell behind 1-0 after one inning and then scored the final 14 runs.

The Capahas banged out 16 hits, 15 of them singles.

Omar Padilla led the way by going 4-for-5, while Jordan Payne went 3-for-4 and drove in five runs. Payne had the Capahas' lone extra-base hit, a double.

Winning pitcher Phillip Riley went 3-for-5 and scored three runs. Zach Johnson and Dustin Pritchett both added two hits, while Daryl Graham delivered three RBIs.

Riley worked six innings. He allowed six hits, struck out eight and walked three.

Stan Skakalski, a recent addition to the Capahas, allowed one hit in a scoreless seventh inning. Skakalski, like 15 of his teammates, is a Southeast Missouri State product.

Trevor Irwin had two of the Riverdogs' seven hits, including a double.

"We were kind of due to hit the ball a little better because we had three or four games where we didn't hit the ball well at all," Plaza Tire manager Jess Bolen said. "And our pitching was good, as usual."

The Capahas are right back in action tonight on the road, facing the St. Louis Golden Spikes.
