Worley takes flagin sprint race

Tommy Worley won the Sprint Car division at Saturday night's races at Auto Tire and Parts Racepark in Benton, Mo.

Jeff Hall Jr. won Modified; Greg Gross finished first in Purestreet; Troy Medley claimed the Sportsman division; and Adam Brown took the flag in Cruisers.

Flatt wins two titlesat Jackson tourney

Tim Flatt defeated Patrick Duffy, 6-1, 6-4, in the men's open singles final at this weekend's American Cancer Society tournament in Jackson, which had three of its six finals postponed due to rain.

Flatt also won a second title when he paired with his daughter, Chelsea Flatt, to defeat Shawn McNally and Teri Popp in three sets in the mixed doubles final. The Flatts won, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.

In the only other final, Popp and Penny Hunter swept Sami Gross and Brooke Morris, 7-6, 6-0, in women's open doubles.

The men's "A" singles final between Mar Lieble and Pershard Owens was postponed, as was the girls youth singles final that featured Maura Neader and Sami Gross. The men's open doubles final was also postponed. It will feature Peter Jones and Jerry Kinnaman against Danny Cooper and Mark Lieble.

The postponed matches will be played at the players' convenience this week.
