Helen Irene Vaughn Schwepker, 84, of Crescent City, Fla., died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at her home.

She was born May 5, 1923, at Illmo. She married G.V. "Shorty" Schwepker.

Schwepker was formerly of Cahokia, Ill., and a member of Jerome Lane Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Crews of Crescent City; a sister, Shirley Eifert of Scott City; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Braun Colonial Funeral Home in Cahokia.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Kenneth Clark and Jim Pettigrew officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
