John Walbridge
MOUNDS, Ill. -- John H. Walbridge, 92, of Paducah, Ky., formerly of Mounds, Cairo and Villa Ridge, Ill., died Monday, June 25, 2007, at his home. He was born Feb. 5, 1915, in Salem, Ill., son of Louie and Carrie Luker Walbridge. Walbridge was a switchman 42 years with Illinois Central Railroad. He was born Feb. 5, 1915, in Salem, Ill., son of Louie and Carrie Luker Walbridge.
Walbridge was a switchman 42 years with Illinois Central Railroad. He was a graduate of Cairo High School.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cairo, and United Transportation Union Local 1299 in Chicago.

Survivors include his wife, Violet Walbridge of Paducah; two sons, John A. Walbridge of St. John, Ind., Glen L. Walbridge of Paducah; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
There is no visitation.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds, with Nan Ellis officiating.
Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds is in charge of arrangements.
