The Cape Girardeau Police Department's continued crackdown on drug dealers led to several arrests in the area Monday and Tuesday.

Six people were arrested on drug charges resulting from street buys and search warrants, according to police spokesman Sgt. Barry Hovis.

The SEMO Drug Task Force assisted police Monday in making a street buy from James P. Joyce, 42, of 902 Jefferson Ave., according to Hovis.

Hovis said Joyce pulled a lockback knife on officers in the car after they informed him he was under arrest. The officers quickly disarmed him, according to Hovis.

Joyce is charged with two felonies, distribution of crack cocaine and unlawful use of a weapon, according to court documents. Joyce is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond, because of the weapons charge.

Joyce reportedly told undercover officers he got his crack from Dwight Robinson, 44, also of 902 Jefferson Ave. Officers found drugs on Robinson after a search, Hovis said. He is charged with distribution of crack cocaine.

Police arrested Terrvell K. Williams, 22, after serving a search warrant on his home at 2835 Lear Drive. Williams is charged with separate felony charges of intent to manufacture and intent to distribute crack cocaine.

Williams is also charged with a felony for receiving stolen goods for a stolen 9 mm pistol he had in his possession when arrested.

This is Williams' sixth arrest in Missouri in the past five years, according to court documents.

Three others were arrested Tuesday on drug charges after a search warrant was served at Harold Mungle's residence at 1202 Rear S. Ellis St.

Hovis said 10 or more people were at the Ellis Street address when the police's Special Response Team arrived to search the premises.

Mungle, 55, is on probation for a conviction for leaving the scene of an accident and driving while intoxicated. He was charged with felony intent to distribute crack cocaine, felony possession of crack cocaine and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Mungle's bond was set at $40,000.

Marvina J. Halton, 36, of Thebes, Ill., and Jerry W. Rendelman, 48, of Anna, Ill., were charged with possession of crack cocaine and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Their bonds were set at $25,000 and $15,000 respectively.
