Both cities are the largest in their respective regions. Each has a historic riverfront area downtown. Paducah has been more aggressive in developing its downtown area and had an innovative program to attract artists to live and work in the city's core, Brooks said.

The Paducah officials' visit will follow the same format used when representatives of Cape Girardeau visited Paducah in May. Department heads from each city will be paired during Monday. The group will be present during Monday's study session and council meeting.

The study session will begin at 4 p.m. The city council will meet at 6 p.m.
