I served the early part of World War II as an Army Air Force primary flight instructor and the last half of the war in the China/Burma/India theater flying gasoline over the Hump (Himalaya mountains) from India to China. The Japanese had cut the Burma Road.

My ties to World War II are also strong because my only brother was killed in a B-25 crash. This should qualify me to voice my opinion.

Frankly, Courthouse Park would be too crowded. Then what happens when we need a memorial for Afghanistan/Iraq veterans? What happens if we are forced to take action against Iran in the future?

Freedom Corner at Broadway and West End Boulevard would be much better for parking and with visibility to thousands of people daily. I am busy with another meeting plus medical problems in the family Thursday or I would attend the meeting at the Osage Community Centre to voice my opinion.
