With one sleeve rolled up, Kristen Hinton, an employee in the deli at Schnucks Supermarket, waited and watched Monday as assistant director Jane Wernsman of the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Department filled a needle with Hepatitis A vaccine in the break room at Schnucks. Vaccinations were provided to all the food workers at the supermarket at no charge to the store or the individual. All vaccine was provided by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. The clinic, which was set up as collaboration between the store and the health department and performed on location, was the first of its kind in Cape County. "We applaud Schnucks for taking this initiative," Wernsman said.
