Linda Kay Williams, 55, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at her home. She was born Feb. 4, 1948, at Whitewater, Mo., daughter of Oliver A. and Beulah Barks Williams. Linda was a 1965 graduate of Delta High School. She was a loan officer at various loan companies in Cape Girardeau, worked 10 years as credit manager at the former Riverside Lumber Co., and eight years in the credit department at the former Atlas Plastics. ...

Linda Kay Williams, 55, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at her home.

She was born Feb. 4, 1948, at Whitewater, Mo., daughter of Oliver A. and Beulah Barks Williams.

Linda was a 1965 graduate of Delta High School. She was a loan officer at various loan companies in Cape Girardeau, worked 10 years as credit manager at the former Riverside Lumber Co., and eight years in the credit department at the former Atlas Plastics. She had been patient accounts manager at Cape Surgical Clinic since 1990.

She had been an active member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson since 1970, and had served on the church council. She and four other church members were honored in 2001 and 2003 for their work with the Jamaican Christian Medical Mission Team.

Linda was especially caring of children and was loving and devoted to her family.

Loving survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Valerie Williams of Cape Girardeau; a sister and brother-in-law, Melva and Eddie Crowell of Scott City; and a dear friend, Rhonda Sievers of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Glenda Vogel.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, and Sunday after 1 p.m. at Emanuel United Church of Christ.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Linda's nephews will serve as pallbearers, and the mission team will be honorary pallbearers.

The family appreciates memorials to the general fund of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson or Jamaican Christian Medical Mission Team, c/o Dorinda Abbott, 4020 Hopper Road, Cape Girardeau, 63701. Contributions will be received at the funeral home, or they may be mailed.
