Ernest Taylor Hazel, 76, of Scott City died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 6, 1930, in Waverly, Ky., son of William E. and Velma Mosley Hazel. He and Elsie Fay Warner were married Dec. 28, 1964, in Shawneetown, Ill.

Hazel was a superintendent with M.E. Leming Lumber Co. in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Clark of Gillespie, Ill., John Clark of Scott City; four daughters, Georgia Wisdom of Rolla, Mo., Kathy Perkins of Scott City, Sharon Davis of Caruthersville, Mo., Terry Stearns of Burfordville; a brother, Truman Hazel of Danville, Ark.; two sisters, JoAnn Hansbrough and Theresa Little of Morganfield, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Doug Sikes officiating.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
