Young captures clubtitle at Cape C.C.

Robyn Young won the club championship during the Cape Girardeau Country Club's Women's Golf Association's Club Championship on Saturday and Sunday.

Kathy Morris was second in the championship flight and Martha Hamilton took third.

In the A-flight, Mary Ann Vogelsang took first, followed by Janet White and Betty Michel.

In the B-flight, Sirley Moore took first, followed by Charlotte Arneson and Irene Thomas.

Kellett aces holeat Kimbeland

JIm Kellett of Jackson recorded his second hole in one recently at Kimbeland Country Club.

Kellett used a sand wedge to ace No. 12, a par 3 playing 90 yards. Witnesses were Charles Hearn, Freeman Lewis and Harlan Halladay.

McDowell claims men'sclub title at Kimbeland

Mark McDowell had rounds of 68 and 72 for a 140 total to win the men's club championship at Kimbeland Country Club.

McDowell edged Todd Ladd (71-70--141) by a stroke, while Kent Phillips (70-72--142) finished two strokes back.

Other flight winners were Dennis Underwood (A, 74-74--148)), Randy Balsman (B, 77-77--154) and Billy Rodgers (C, 77-79--156). Scott Hume won the net division.

The team of Rocky Strand, Maril Strand, Scott Anderson and Derek Gaines won the Sikeston Peace Officers four-man scramble at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Louie Seay, Mike Williams, Dave Busby and Teresa Burleson won A-flight; Mike Zaricor, Russ Deidiker, Dyland Zaricor and Mike Zaricor Jr. claimed B-flight; and Andrew Juden, Jason Merritt, Jason Holcomb and Jerry Caldwell took first in C-flight.

SEMO HorseshoeAssociation events

The team of Jake Kluesner and Martin Williams won the SEMO Horseshoe Association event Sunday at the Knights of Columbus in Oran, Mo.

James Hillis and Melody Williams finished second, while Randy Senciboy and Lachelle Cook took third.

On Saturday, Randy Grady and Larry Glastetter placed first at Bell City Park in Bell City, Mo. Cook and Kluesner finished second, while Williams and Cleo Schaefer took third.
