To the editor: The Cape Girardeau City Council is trying again to put a sales tax before the citizens. The city will try to put in items that are not necessary. Where are the cost estimates in detail on the tornado early warning system that is proposed? We have TV and radio early warning systems. I do not believe sirens could be heard all over the city due to the terrain. Where is the budget for the fire and police department in detail?...

Where are the cost estimates in detail on the tornado early warning system that is proposed? We have TV and radio early warning systems. I believe that the police and fire department should be upgraded, but first a lean budget should be presented to the taxpayers. The city council should remember the River Campus. The taxpayers will not put up with another deception.
