Carol D. Wells, 59, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born Dec. 5, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Robert and Jessie Jewel Sander Wells. Miss Wells was employed 37 years at Southwestern Bell, retiring as an engineer. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers 37 years. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School 36 years...

Carol D. Wells, 59, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 5, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Robert and Jessie Jewel Sander Wells.

Miss Wells was employed 37 years at Southwestern Bell, retiring as an engineer. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers 37 years. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School 36 years.

Survivors include her mother, Jessie Jewel Putz of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Steve Wells of Jackson, John Wells of Cape Girardeau; three nephews, John Wells of Elk Grove, Calif., Jody Wells of Columbia, Mo., Justin Wells of Cape Girardeau; and a great-niece, Madison Wells of Elk Grove.

She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery at Commerce, Mo.
