SIKESTON, Mo. -- Johnny Louis Watkins Sr., 67, of Sikeston died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at his home.

He was born April 11, 1940, in Burdette, Ark., son of Oscar William and Lillie Irean Bowers Watkins. He and Montene Lockhart were married June 16, 1961, at Bell City, Mo.

Watkins was a self-employed farmer and a member of Morley Church of God.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Johnny Watkins of Oran, Mo.; two daughters, Debra Buell of Oran, Amanda Watkins of Sikeston; two brothers, Donald and Oscar Watkins of Oran; a sister, Pamela Wefenstette of Oran; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Larry Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
