Morehouse Fall Fest to be held Saturday

MOREHOUSE, Mo. -- Morehouse, just west of Sikeston in Scott County, will host its annual Fall Fest on Saturday. The event begins at 10 a.m. with a parade, followed by beauty pageants at 11:30 a.m., live music, games, food and other vendors and displays. Grant-writing workshop to be in area Oct. 18

The Missouri Arts Council will bring its touring grant-writing workshop to the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri on Oct. 18. The workshop is free and will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All not-for-profit organizations seeking funding for art projects who are not familiar with the arts council grant process, or grant applicants who feel they're not filling out their applications properly are encouraged to attend. Public invited to arts council awards night

The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri has issued an invitation to the public to take part in its annual awards night, coming up Oct. 26. The night will begin at 6 p.m. with appetizers and a cash bar, followed by a performance of Southeast Missouri State University's production of "Big River." Events take place in the Bedell Performance Hall at the River Campus. Tickets are available to the public. For more information, call 334-9233.
