For those traveling outside Cape Girardeau County, be alert to road projects in the following counties:Dunklin County

Highway 53, from Route J to Route H (north of Campbell) will be reduced to one lane for pavement repairs. The work is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. Tuesday and continue through 5 p.m. Friday.

Butler County

Westbound lanes of Highway 60, from Route T/AA to the the U.S. highways 67/60 interchange in Poplar Bluff, will be reduced to one lane for surface work. The project starts at 6 a.m. today and is expected to continue through mid-October. The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.

Stoddard County

North Outer Road on U.S. 60 west, from One Mile Road to Route AD in Dexter, will be reduced to one lane, starting at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, while crews complete patching work started on Friday.

Work continues on eastbound lanes of U.S. 60, from Route F to Highway 25. The contractor, Chester Bross, will continue smoothing the road surface starting at 6 a.m. today. Work is expected to continue through mid-October.

A section of Route Y, between Route Z and Route AB, will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, while MoDOT crews make bridge repairs.
