The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team dropped the first game Tuesday night but rallied for a home win over regional rival Southern Illinois.

Southeast posted a 23-30, 30-26, 30-20, 32-30 victory to even its record at 10-10. SIU fell to 11-8.

Karleigh DeLong led the Redhawks with 22 kills and she added 18 digs.

Aubrey Dondlinger (16 kills, 12 digs) and Claire Keaton (13 kills, 12 digs) also posted double-doubles for Southeast.

Molly Davis paced the Redhawks in digs with 20, while Sarah Barth recorded 53 assists.

The Redhawks, 5-4 in Ohio Valley Conference play, resume OVC action Friday at Samford.

Soccer player honored

Southeast freshman forward Ashley Runion was named the OVC offensive player of the week for women's soccer on Tuesday.

Runion had two game-winning goals last week as Southeast beat Austin Peay 2-0 and Tennessee Tech 3-0.

Runion leads Southeast and the OVC with eight goals and 19 points.

The Redhawks (7-2-1, 4-0) have won five straight games and are in first place in the OVC. They host Eastern Illinois at 7 p.m. Friday.

Baseball schedule change

There has been a change in the schedule for the Southeast baseball team's Steak & Beans World Series, a series of intrasquad games that wrap up fall practice.

Game two, originally scheduled for Friday, has been moved to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The seven-game series begins at 3 p.m. Thursday at Capaha Field. Other games will be at 3 p.m. Oct. 16, 6 p.m. Oct. 19, 2 p.m. Oct. 21, 3 p.m. Oct. 23 and at a time to be determined Oct. 26.

All games are open to the public, with no admission charge.
