Legion post meets Tuesday

The next meeting for American Legion Post 158 is 7 p.m. Tuesday. Bingo will be held on the fourth Tuesday monthly at the Veterans Home; the next date is Jan. 27. The Honor Guard will meet the fourth Monday monthly; the next date is Jan. 26.

Post representative: Tyler Tankersley, a Jackson High School student, will represent the post in the district oratory contest.

Contributions to the Memorial Scholarship Fund included Bob and Adell Hartle in memory of Greg Latimer, Norman Sebastian and Everette Johnston; Dorothy Johnston and family in memory of Everette Johnston; Mary and Truman Johnston in memory of Everette Johnston.

Phone cards to National Guard: The local National Guard unit being called up as part of the 1140th Engineer Battalion will receive $25 phone cards from the post for each member of the Jackson unit.
