Adelaide Jones

Adelaide I. Jones, 97, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at the home of a grandson in Altenburg, Mo. She was born July 31, 1910, in Alto Pass, Ill., daughter of William A. and Aza Finch Friese. She and Paul F. Jones were married April 17, 1938, in Illmo. He died Oct. 7, 2003...

Adelaide I. Jones, 97, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at the home of a grandson in Altenburg, Mo.

She was born July 31, 1910, in Alto Pass, Ill., daughter of William A. and Aza Finch Friese. She and Paul F. Jones were married April 17, 1938, in Illmo. He died Oct. 7, 2003.

Jones received a teaching certificate from Southeast Missouri State University, and taught elementary school many years in Alto Pass.

Survivors include a brother, Russell Friese of Anna; three grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister and four brothers.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.
