Thirty-eight Central High School graduates from the class of 1943 gathered for their 64th class reunion recently. Thirty-eight Central High School graduates from the class of 1943 gathered for their 64th class reunion recently. Pictured from left were Lester Paul Whitticre, Verne Whitticre and Opal Johnson, three of the attendees. Alumni came from as near as Cape Girardeau and St. Louis and as far as Texas, Colorado and Indiana. Festivities were coordinated by Marge Miller Thompson of Cape Girardeau and Virginia Wolters Jones of Jackson and included an open house, dinner party, picnic and Sunday morning breakfast. Ginny Jones read a classic poem titled "A Class Reunion." The class sang "Happy Birthday" and gave her a card. Thompson read the deceased classmates' names in a candlelight ceremony. The Convention and Visitors Bureau contributed name tags and goody bags. Emily Ann Walther Weinheimer of Houston and Margaret Buelow of Cape Girardeau won the door prizes.
