Cape Girardeau police arrested a man in connection with a robbery that occurred near Breakaways Bar & Billiards, 15 N. Main St., about 10 p.m. Friday. Sean K. Poole, 23, of Cape Girardeau has been charged with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, assault of a police animal and resisting arrest. Bond was set at $50,000. According to Sgt. Barry Hovis, a female victim reported a man with a knife taking her purse. Officers found a man matching a witness' description rifling through a purse on Spanish Street and chased the man to a residence at 6 S. Fountain St. The man reportedly struck a police dog and was then apprehended.
