Southeast Missourian Traffic lights were out and electricity to surrounding businesses and homes was affected when a vehicle struck a traffic light post at Independence Street and Caruthers Avenue about 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Lights at Caruthers Avenue and Broadway were also affected. A 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated as a contributing factor to the accident. As of 9 p.m., AmerenUE was still working to restore power...
