Goldie Smith

TAMMS, Ill. -- Goldie M. Smith, 83, of Tamms died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 9, 1920, in Elco, Ill., daughter of William and Victoria Josephine Reynolds Dailey. She and Ralph B. Smith were married June 12, 1935, at Tamms.

Smith was a member of Tamms United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Marilyn Crisler of Tamms, Carolyn Alvis of Jackson, Tenn.; a son, Ralph Smith of Dover, Del.; a brother, John Dailey of Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Clark officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill.
