1. "You Won't Know" by Brand New

Jesse Lacey is probably my favorite American songwriter these days. He's crafty with his lyrics and music, plus this band flat out rocks.

2. "Awakened By Sirens" by Deadlock

Probably one of my favorite songs of all time. I really dig the female vocals on this track and how they are accompanied by growling death metal vocals; the piano outro is a plus as well.

3. "Puppet" by Mankind is Obsolete

This band has to be one of the best unknown and unsigned bands in America. Their style really has something for everyone.

4. "1st Rays of the New Rising Son" by Adios Gringo

Just about every song they have ever done is one of my favorites. If Slayer, Melvins and Black Sabbath could mate, this is what would happen ...

5. "I Don't Wanna Hear It" by Minor Threat

Every time I see a politician speak I want to sing them this song.
