The awards keep mounting for the Jackson football team.

Running back Adam Zweigart, linebacker Blake Peiffer and defensive back Matt Lang all earned a spot on the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association's Class 5 all-state football team Wednesday.

Lang, who also earned a spot on the Missouri Football Coaches Association's first-team all-state list, earned a second honor Wednesday. He was also named the Army Iron Man of the Year as the best two-way high school player in Missouri.

Lang's accomplishments in the Indians' game against Eureka, where he blocked an extra point, set up the game-tying touchdown with a 78-yard reception, kicked the game-winning extra point and preserved the victory with an interception, were mentioned in the release announcing the honor.

Lang intercepted 11 passes on defense, including four against Parkway West, which tied a state single-game record. He finished with 78 tackles. Last month, he was presented with the Carr Trophy, honoring the top player in Southeast Missouri.

Zweigart kept the Indians' offense moving. He gained 1,751 yards on 215 carries and scored 17 touchdowns. The junior averaged 145.9 yards per game.

Peiffer was a force on defense for the stingy Indians defense. He finished with 112 tackles.
