Melba Eugenia Seabaugh, 85 of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at her home.

She was born March 20, 1922, in Reynolds County, Mo., daughter of the late Alva G. and Shirley Lewis Johnson. She and Howard H. Seabaugh were married July 15, 1944. He survives.

Melba was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. She enjoyed gardening, working at home and taking care of her family and pets.

Loving survivors include her husband, five sons and daughters-in-law, Jon (Kaye) Seabaugh and Ken (Barbara) Seabaugh of Kansas City, Mo., Bill (Martha) Seabaugh of Little Rock, Ark., Randy (Barbara) Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau, Tim (Sharon) Seabaugh of Barnhart, Mo.; six sisters, Alta Miller, Alsie Duke, Irene Frohock, Jean Kuntz, Rowena Jones, and Sherry Williams; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Dana Barner, and a brother, Ronald Johnson.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service Friday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Chaplain Eric Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Cape County Memorial Park.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Southeast Hospice or the American Heart Association.
