Stone had been driving southbound on Route B near Cinque Holmes Bridge in Perry County in the early morning hours when his Pontiac Grand Prix failed to negotiate a curve and crossed the center line, according to a probable-cause statement by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Stone's vehicle struck a white Ford F-150 head on, and the driver of that vehicle, Grass, died later that evening as a result of his injuries, according to the sworn statement.

Involuntary manslaughter is a class C felony, punishable by up to seven years in prison.
