Police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at an International Grocery store on South Silver Springs Road, said Sgt. Barry Hovis, spokesman for the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

The suspect came into the business Wednesday night, flourishing a black semiautomatic handgun and demanded money, the clerk told police.

He wore a black ski mask and fled the scene with an undisclosed but small amount of money.

Police canvassed the area and will continue to search for the suspect, Hovis said.
