BENTON, Mo. -- Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said Saturday that a partial meth lab was seized at a residence on Harding Street in Sikeston between midnight Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

In a prepared statement, Walter said that he and Scott County detectives were conducting a surveillance on the residence, and the suspect did not return to the home because he was apparently arrested in another county on unknown charges.

Police found meth lab components including soaking ephedrine pills, lithium batteries and an incomplete chemical generator.

The lab was in a shed outside the residence in plain view of the street. Walter said no one was in custody because the surveillance was interrupted, but charges may be filed at a later date.
