Janel L. Behr, 60, of East Alton, Ill., died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at her home.

She was born Feb. 6, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Jesse and Helen Coyler Callis. They preceded her in death. She married Teddy W. Behr in May 1967, in Wood River, Ill. He preceded her in death.

She was a retired police communications employee for the Village of East Alton.

She is survived by two daughters, Tara Newton of Edwardsville, Ill., and Tracey Behr; a son, Tyler Behr of Brighton, Ill.; a sister, Judy Dunn of McClure, Ill.; two brothers, Marvin Edwards of Spanish Lake, Ill., and Pete Edwards of Bethalto, Ill.; and a grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lindsey Cemetery in McClure.
