Jacqueline Joyce Hurte, 73, of Washington, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008. She was born April 11, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Vannus Albert and Arizona "Ruth" Bridges Moore. Jacqueline Joyce Hurte, 73, of Washington, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008.

She was born April 11, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Vannus Albert and Arizona "Ruth" Bridges Moore.

Hurte lived in Cape Girardeau most of her life. She was a clerical worker 30 years at Southeast Missouri State University. She was a member of Red Star Baptist Church and sang in the choir.

She moved to St. Clair, Mo., and became a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Lonedell, Mo.

Survivors include a son, the Rev. Steven Hurte of North Augusta, S.C.; a daughter, LaDonna Butenhoff of Union, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Revs. Steven Hurte and Glenn Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair was in charge of arrangements.
