A confirmed tornado hit Stoddard County approximately three miles northeast of Highway FF at approximately 1 p.m. this afternoon.

Stoddard County Emergency Management Director John Prance confirmed the reported tornado at 2:30 p.m. today.

There have been no reported injuries so far, however, damage has been confirmed at at least one Stoddard County home just southeast of Circle City and several power and telephone poles were broken on Highway 114, just east of Dexter and on Highway N, just southeast of Circle City.

The National Weather Service in Paducah, Ky., also issued a tornado warning this afternoon for parts of Southern Illinois. The warning area was quickly revised to include only Johnson County. The Johnson County Sheriff's Department reported no tornado touched down.
