Harold Robert Humphreys, 94, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born May 13, 1913, at Illmo, son of Matthew Fullegar and Gertrude Farner Humphreys. He and Dorothy Mae Enderle were married Aug. 2, 1941, at Kelso, Mo. She died Nov. 26, 2000.

Humphreys was co-owner of Harold's Market in Scott City from 1963 to 1979. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, and Knights of Columbus Council 6420 in Scott City.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Humphreys of Jackson, and a sister, Gladys Schaefer of Chesterfield, Mo.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The parish rosary will be recited at 6, followed by Knights of Columbus service at 6:15.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery.
