  • Breast-feeding class: 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Generations Center. Covers topics such as the benefits and techniques of breastfeeding, family involvement and support. Call Generations at 651-5825 or visit www.southeastmissourihospital.com to register.
  • Breast-feeding support group: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Generations Center. Provides an opportunity to meet and talk with other breast-feeding moms. Partners and support persons also are welcome. The meetings will start immediately following the breast-feeding class.   • Preparation for childbirth class: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Saint Francis Medical Center Registration Center. Comprehensive guide to expected bodily changes, labor signs and stages, pain control techniques and basic infant care. Tips on relaxing, positioning and breathing will also be discussed. Refreshments provided. Bring the "Pregnancy, Childbirth and Parenting Kit" provided by your physician's office. Register by calling 877-231-2229.

  • Healthy cooking class: 6 p.m. at HealthPoint Plaza. "Splendid Soups" shows participants how to make delicious, healthy soups that can be stored for extended periods of time for a quick dinner later. There are various fees. Call 986-4440 to preregister.
  • Childbirth preparation class: 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Harrison Room at Southeast Missouri Hospital. Expectant parents are invited to attend this class designed to ease concerns and give a positive, confident attitude toward labor and delivery. Classes include what to expect throughout the birthing process, methods of relaxation and breathing, and a video on Caesarean section deliveries. Pre-registration is required. Tuesday

  • Angels of God prayer group: 6 p.m. in the Pastoral Care conference room at Saint Francis Medical Center. For parents who have lost a child of any age.   • Relay for Life kickoff: 5 to 7 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center. Team packets will be available and the American Cancer Society staff and volunteers will be there to answer questions and review packets.
