EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. -- Dorothy Loraine Fitzgerald, 82, of Camden, S.C., formerly of East Cape Girardeau, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at Kershaw County Medical Center in Camden.
She was born Dec. 2, 1925, in Alexander County, Ill., to Robert and Nora Meyers Dover. She married Walter Fitzgerald Dec. 28, 1946. He preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1983.
Fitzgerald was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Jim Fitzgerald and Allen Fitzgerald, both of South Carolina, and Charles "Chuck" Fitzgerald of North Carolina; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Alfred Dover, Howard Dover, Elroy Dover and Floyd Dover; and a sister, Beverly McHarry; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and an infant sister.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
