The St. Vincent girls basketball team jumped to an 18-point lead after the first half and cruised to a 53-20 victory against visiting Kelly on Monday night.

Courtney Besand paced a balanced scoring attack for the Indians (12-3) with 12 points. Jessica Welker added 11, while Lacey Siegmund, Brooke Brown and Elizabeth Rozier each had eight.

St. Vincent posted its fifth straight win since bowing to Delta in the final of the Delta New Year's Tournament.

For Kelly, Kayla Cissell and Kristen Powell each scored five points.

Lauren Castleman and Brittany Menz both swam to four first place finishes as Notre Dame breezed past Jackson, St. Vincent, and Poplar Bluff.

Castleman captured the 50 freestlye, 100 freestlye, and was part of the winning 200 medley relay team and 400 freestyle relay team. Menz was also part of the those relays and added firsts in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke.

Allison Hobbs led Jackson with first place finishes in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle.
