Merline Edna Hente, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Aug. 4, 1925, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Martin Edward and Rosa Louise Fassold Hente.

Hente was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. She worked 42 years for Florsheim Shoe Co. as an inspector.

She is survived by a brother, Donald Hente of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will follow at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nathan Burgell officiating.

Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
