Wendi Zickfield wasn't about to let her team fall on the road.

The Central junior scored a game-high 30 points to lead the Tigers girls basketball team to a 59-45 victory over Kennett on Saturday.

Sophomore point guard Sadie Pittman added 14 in the victory.

The Tigers (9-8) return to action Monday when they face Notre Dame at the Show Me Center.

The Central girls team finished 13th out of 20 teams, but did have two relay teams make state cut times.

The Tigers' 400 freestyle relay team of Annie Wolpers, Jessica Baker, Mary Catherine Ford and Jennifer Willett finished in 3 minutes, 56.79 seconds, good enough for sixth and a trip to the state meet. The same four swimmers also earned a state cut time in the 200 freestyle relay Friday.

Wolpers added a seventh in the 50 freestyle (26.56) and a 12th in the 100 freestyle (59.87).

Brittany Menz and Abbie Messmer provided the Bulldogs' lone individual titles in their home dual meet.
