CHESTERFIELD, Mo. -- Nancy Miller, a former lifestyle editor for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, was found slain in her St. Louis-area home Friday night.

Miller's body was found around 6 p.m. after friends and neighbors couldn't reach her by cell phone. Chesterfield police would not comment on the cause of death.

Miller, 59, worked for nearly 30 years at the Post-Dispatch.

Miller had been working with journalism students at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park in recent months.

"She really cared about the people who worked for her," said Amy Bertrand, who replaced Miller as lifestyle editor. "That made a difference in the newsroom."
