BELLFLOWER, Mo. (AP) -- A woman has been charged with abandoning the body of a man whose body was found in a cistern beneath the house where the two had lived, Montgomery County authorities said Friday.

Sheriff's deputies and the Missouri State Highway Patrol found the body Wednesday after fielding a tip that it was being concealed at the house in this community, about 80 miles west of St. Louis.

The man's identity was being confirmed and withheld, pending notification of relatives.

The man's housemate, Patricia Landrum, 53, has been charged with abandoning a corpse, sheriff's officials said.

An autopsy was ordered.
