The Oak Ridge FCE Homemakers Club met Feb. 19 at the home of Betty Dellinger. Jean Rehak presided over the meeting.

Members reported about buying clothes to be given away at Christmas at the Elks' Basket Giveaway.

Members discussed those who would be getting FCE service pins for work years at All Clubs Day. Oak Ridge will have two members, and the club voted to pay for the pins as an honor to them.

Marilyn Retherford was complimented for her service on Cape County FCE Essay and Artwork and the Program of Literacy.

A letter thanking members for participating as volunteers at birthday parties at Jackson Manor from retired employee Marilyn Freeman was read. Members will continue the project. Carole Jo Byrd will prepare a new item for the Missouri FCE Messenger about the club participating in this service for the past 20 years.

It was announced that the quarterly Council meeting will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the University of Missouri Extension office in Jackson. Members were encouraged to attend the meeting.

A leader training meeting will be at 6 p.m. March 31 at the Extension Center. Rehak will attend the meeting on attention deficit disorder, Lee Anderson will attend the meeting on fraud, and Crader will attend the meetings on microwave cooking and credit scores. The microwave and ADD classes begin at 6:30 p.m., and the credit scores and fraud classes will begin at 7:30 p.m.

A report was read from Mary Klaproth of Town & Country Club that FCE tours will be four one-day outings to St. Louis.

All Clubs Day will be March 24 at the Extension Center. There will be a potluck dinner.

Mary Dee Ford gave the program on emergency preparedness.

The project for the month was lap robes, which Dellinger made for residents at the Missouri Veterans Home.

Volunteers for Missouri Veterans Home bingo were Crader and Rehak, and volunteers for Jackson Manor birthday parties were Anderson, Crader, Byrd and Dellinger.

Byrd will be the hostess for the next meeting, which will be at 11:30 a.m. March 18. The theme will be Mexico International. A meal will be served, and Byrd will present a program on Mexico.
