FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- Ruth Parsons, 74, of Fredericktown died Monday, March 31, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born Dec. 31, 1933, at Risco, Mo., daughter of Auda and Ethel Pankey Wilson. She first married William Metzger, who preceded her in death. FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- Ruth Parsons, 74, of Fredericktown died Monday, March 31, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 31, 1933, at Risco, Mo., daughter of Auda and Ethel Pankey Wilson. She first married William Metzger, who preceded her in death. She and Morris Parsons were married Aug. 19, 1992, at Centerville, Mo.

Parsons was a member of Millcreek Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Michael, Douglas and Rodney Metzger, all of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Nancy Halbrook of Patton, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and eight sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown.
