The 45-year-old Young, who grew up in the Kansas City suburb of Lee's Summit, was described as a man with a good sense of humor who was willing to help friends, family and anyone else who needed a hand.

Members of the Patriot Guard arrived, some as early as 3 hours before the funeral, to stand in honor of Young.

Young's family learned last month that he was dead and that his remains had been recovered.
