STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State basketball coach Rick Stansbury says Bulldogs sophomore guard Ben Hansbrough has decided to transfer following the spring semester.
"Ben is a good kid and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors," Stansbury said in a statement issued by the school. Hansbrough has not announced where he's tranferring.
A 6-foot-3 guard from Poplar Bluff, Hansbrough was MSU's fourth-leading scorer this past season at 10.5 points per game.
He started 28 games and tied for the team lead with 62 3-point field goals, shooting 36 percent from beyond the arc.
He led the Bulldogs in free-throw percentage (.789). Hansbrough, the younger brother of North Carolina All-American Tyler Hansbrough, also averaged 2.6 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.
