I am so sorry to see the Early Head Start program go. I am shocked that its value did not withstand budget cuts. When I was a student at Southeast Missouri State University, the EHS program provided my child with the care he needed and myself with the opportunity to finish college. It was a wonderful program for us. Not only did it provide a fully attentive program for my child, it also was of educational value to the students who were pursuing child-care careers. Had it not been for that program, would I have been able to finish college? An opportunity is lost now to parents under similar circumstances. What will the community do to support another program like EHS?
